Journey with the Master (JWM)
JWM is GenMin's primary program for helping churches develop young emerging leaders and their mentors.
During the two-year-long JWM "journey," older teens and young adults who show ministry leadership potential travel in partnership with mentors and JWM faculty. The journey is designed to help them discover and embrace the Holy Spirit's call to go deeper in ministry with Jesus.
JWM includes four weekend gatherings (intensives):
> The Master's Touch - discovering who you are in Jesus
> The Master's Ministry - ministering with and like Jesus
> The Master's Calling - hearing and answering the call of Jesus
> Fishing with the Master - becoming disciplemakers with Jesus
Between these gatherings, participants grow with help from mentors and JWM faculty. Those who discover a call to pastoral ministry are invited to participate in additional training, including pastoral internships.
Most JWM participants are staff members in GenMin camps or missions - though all older teen and young adult believers (typically age 15 to 25) are welcome to participate. Mentors are encouraged to participate with them.
JWM is led by GenMin trainers who have in-depth experience helping teens and young adults identify and pursue their calling to ministry with Jesus.
